Are you committed to feminist justice beyond the criminal legal system? 

Do you work across feminist activism, organising or community practice? 

If this is you, we would love to invite you to participate in a transnational workshop to build feminist knowledge and practice— across borders, disciplines, and struggles. 

Why this workshop? 
In recent years, movements across the world have sparked a renewed critique of penal violence, state coercion and profit-driven corporate violence. Despite this, Dialogues among shared struggles remain fragmented by language, resources and other barriers. There is still a divide between ‘academic and non-academic’ knowledge and praxis, and voices from the Global South are often sidelined and unacknowledged. This project seeks to connect feminist abolitionist thinkers through a participatory, multilingual workshop with an aim of working alongside one another to launch a Transnational Feminist Abolitionist Network. 

What to expect: 

• Collective planning from the outset. 
• Group sessions on co-producing feminist knowledge and working together ethically. 
• Creative sessions including collage-making and emotion-mapping. 
• Interpretation in Spanish, Arabic, and British Sign Language to ensure accessibility. 
• A safe space for co-research, committed to anti-colonial and abolitionist ethics.
• Opportunities to contribute to creative and scholarly outputs, including a zine and a roundtable article. 
• Follow-up support to continue the conversation and expand the network. 

Who we’re looking for: 
Feminists who are: 

• (i) activists, organisers, and/or community practitioners. 
• (ii) highly critical of the criminal legal system and working towards its dismantling in any way.  
• (iii) working towards transformative alternatives in Latin America, Africa, and/or Europe.  

We especially welcome those whose work challenges prisons, state and corporate coercion and colonialist exploitation by centring lived experience at the grassroots level.  

While we welcome expressions of interest from people who are also working within academia, we cannot accept applications from individuals who are not involved in some form of activism/organising/community practice. 

How to get involved: 

Please email us a one-page expression of interest indicating: 

1. What your activist/organising/community practice work is about and how you and the group(s) you work with would benefit from being involved in the workshops 
2. Whether you could attend in-person or online  
3. Whether you need funding to attend in-person (bursaries will be available for participants who lack access to funding). 
4. Whether you need a visa to travel to the United Kingdom (for the purpose of assisting you with the application).

¿Estás comprometida con la justicia feminista más allá del sistema penal?

¿Trabajas en el activismo feminista, el liderazgo o la práctica comunitaria?

Si es así, nos encantaría invitarte a participar en un taller transnacional para desarrollar conocimientos y prácticas feministas abolicionistas, más allá de las fronteras, las disciplinas y las luchas.

¿Por qué este taller?
En los últimos años, movimientos sociales de todo el mundo han renovado la crítica de la violencia penal, la coacción estatal y los abusos corporativos impulsados por el ánimo de lucro. A pesar de ello, los intercambios transnacionales siguen fragmentados por el idioma, los recursos y otras barreras. Sigue existiendo una división entre el conocimiento y la praxis «académica y no académica», y las voces del Sur Global suelen quedar marginadas y sin reconocimiento. Este proyecto busca conectar a pensadoras/activistas feministas y abolicionistas a través de un taller participativo y multilingüe con el objetivo de trabajar juntas para poner en marcha una Red Feminista Abolicionista Transnacional.

Qué esperar del taller:

• Planificación colectiva desde el principio.
• Sesiones grupales sobre la coproducción del conocimiento feminista y el trabajo conjunto ético.
• Sesiones creativas que incluyen la creación de collages y el mapeo de emociones.
• Interpretación en español, árabe y lengua de signos británica para garantizar la accesibilidad.
• Un espacio seguro para la investigación conjunta, comprometido con la ética anticolonial y abolicionista.
• Oportunidades para contribuir a productos creativos y académicos, incluyendo un fanzine y un artículo de mesa redonda.
• Apoyo y seguimiento para continuar la conversación y ampliar la red.

A quién buscamos:
Feministas que sean:

• Activistas, lideresas y/o profesionales comunitarias.
•  Críticas del sistema penal que trabajan para desmantelarlo de cualquier forma.
•  Personas que trabajan por alternativas transformadoras en América Latina, África y/o Europa.

Damos la bienvenida especialmente a personas cuyo trabajo desafía a las prisiones, la coacción estatal y corporativa y la explotación colonialista, centrándose en las experiencias vividas a nivel comunitario.

*Aunque agradecemos el interés de personas que trabajan en el ámbito académico, no podemos aceptar solicitudes de quienes no estén involucradas de alguna forma en el activismo, la organización o la práctica comunitaria.

1. En qué consiste su trabajo de activismo, organización y/o práctica comunitaria y cómo tú y el grupo o grupos con los que trabajas se beneficiarían de tu participación en los talleres.
2. Si puedes asistir en persona o en línea.
3. Si necesitarás financiamiento para asistir en persona (habrá un número limitado de becas disponibles para los participantes que no dispongan de financiamiento propio).
4. Si necesitas visa para viajar al Reino Unido (a fin de ayudarle con la solicitud).

هل تعملين/تعملون في مجال النشاط النسوي أو التنظيم أو الممارسة المجتمعية؟ 

إذا كان هذا ينطبق عليكن/عليكم، فنحن ندعوكن/ ندعوكم للمشاركة في ورشة عمل لبناء المعرفة والممارسة النسوية — عبر الحدود والتخصصات والنضالات المختلفة.

لماذا هذه الورشة؟

في السنوات الأخيرة، أثارت الحركات نقدًا متجددًا للعنف الجنائي والعنف المؤسسي المدفوع بالربح في جميع أنحاء العالم. على الرغم من ذلك، لا تزال الحوارات بين النضالات المشتركة مجزأة بسبب اللغة والموارد وغيرها من الحواجز. لا يزال هناك فجوة بين المعرفة والممارسات الأكاديمية وغير الأكاديمية، وغالبًا ما يتم تهميش أصوات الجنوب العالمي وعدم الاعتراف بها. يسعى هذا المشروع إلى ربط مفكرات/مفكري النسوية الإلغائية من خلال ورشة عمل تشاركية متعددة اللغات بهدف العمل معًا لإطلاق شبكة نسوية دولية.

●     ترجمة فورية إلى الإسبانية والعربية ولغة الإشارة لضمان سهولة الوصول.

●     مساحة آمنة للبحث المشترك، ملتزمة بأخلاقيات مناهضة للاستعمار الجديد.

●     فرص للمساهمة في الإنتاج الإبداعي والأكاديمي، بما في ذلك المجلات المستقلة والحلقات النقاشية.

●     دعم ومتابعة لمواصلة الحوار وتوسيع الشبكة.

من نبحث عنه:

●     ناشطات/ناشطون و/أو منظمات مجتمعية.

●     منتقدات/منتقدون للنظام القانوني الجنائي بأي شكل من الأشكال. 

●     مهتمات/مهتمون بإيجاد بدائل تحويلية في أمريكا اللاتينية وأفريقيا و/أو أوروبا. 

نرحب بشكل خاص بأولئك اللواتي/الذين ينتقدون الحلول القائمة على العنف (مثل السجن، القمع، الاستغلال الاستعماري الجديد… الخ بجميع أنواعه من خلال التركيز على التجارب الحياتية. 

بالرغم من كوننا نرحب أيضاً بالأشخاص العاملين بالمجال الأكاديمي، إلا أنه لا يمكننا قبول طلبات الأفراد الذين لا يشاركون في أي شكل من أشكال النشاط/التنظيم/الممارسات المجتمعية.
