Book Launch, 21 April 2021: Capitalism and the Equity Fetish

by | 1 Apr 2021

Virtual Book launch: Rob Herian, Capitalism and the Equity Fetish: Desire, Property and Justice – Wednesday 21 April, 1pm-2pm.

The Equity & Trusts Research Network is hosting a virtual book launch for Dr Rob Herian’s new book, Capitalism and the Equity Fetish (Palgrave Macmillan, 2021). As the blurb on the back states, “the book aims to address several questions, including how capitalism has imagined and shaped equity and civil justice since the nineteenth century; how capitalism acts as a well-spring of desire for forms of justice that wrap-around and sustain complex frameworks of private property power and ownership; and how equity supports agile neoliberal strategies of justice and reason in the twenty-first century”.

The session will be chaired by Nick Piška (University of Kent), with Professor Adam Gearey (Birkbeck, University of London) providing commenting and Dr Rob Herian (Open University) in response. To register for this event please email Nick Piška on n.piska@kent.ac.uk. As a special treat, attendees will get a discount code for the book!
